A4e reaches out to families to help tackle local Unemployment
A specific family day at A4e Derby has been held with the purpose of reaching out to people in the area who may have one or more family members or friends currently suffering from unemployment.
The day was organised to ensure that all of Derby A4e existing customers had the opportunity to bring in any member of their family or friends who were currently unemployed to let them know what support there is available in Derby for them.
Over 19 different organisations attended, their services ranged from help for younger people to mental health support, debt counseling, self employment support, employment programmes right through to starting a career in the music and arts industry.
“Amazing, great fun, great food, great staff and so much information not just for me but for my daughter and partner too” was just one of the many positive comments from a Derby A4e customer.
Branch Manager Nicola Freeman said:
“We wanted to organise an event that could help not just our customers but those friends and family around them who may need help, advice and guidance and are not sure exactly what support is available, our customers, their families and friends and the organisations which have attended today have found the day incredibly beneficial.”
The day was a one stop shop for any any age, background or circumstance to get together and see what support is available right now in their own city and communities.
Over 400 customers and their families attended, the day had music, fun, food and lots of support for everyone irrespective of their circumstances. Derby A4e hopes to replicate the format by holding an A4e Derby Jobsfair with all of our employers later this year.
